Manage Payment Reminders

Invoice2go payment reminders send automatic email reminders to let your customers know it's time to pay the invoices you've sent them.

Enabling payment reminders does not automatically activate reminders for all invoices — payment reminders are set at the invoice level and delivered on an invoice basis.

The payment reminders default settings will schedule reminders to be sent out three days before the invoice due date and three days after the invoice due date. You have the following options to schedule payment reminders:

  • 3 days before invoice is due
  • On invoice due date
  • 3 days after invoice is due
  • 7 days after invoice is due

Payment reminders is an account level setting. What does that mean? Let’s say, you send an invoice with reminders to be delivered  "3 days before the invoice is due", but then decide to turn off payment reminders. This means all payment reminders will be canceled. 

Changes to your default schedule only affect new invoices. For example, if you add “7 days after the invoice is due” to your payment reminder settings, this will only apply to new invoices being sent. If you want an old invoice to have “7 days after” reminder sent, you would need to resend the invoice manually. 

Turning off payment reminders in settings will cancel all your scheduled reminders across all your invoices.

To use payment reminders, you must have a Pro, Enterprise, or Unlimited subscription plan. If you are on the Invoice2go Starter plan, upgrade to use payment reminders.

iPhone and iPad

  1. From the side navigation menu, tap on Settings
  2. Under the Company section, tap on Client communication
  3. Tap on Payment reminders
  4. Toggle on Payment reminders
  5. Select the schedule you want to set up for your payment reminders
  6. Tap on Send me a preview to receive an example payment reminder

    *Available for versions iOS 9.4.0 and later 

Android

  1. From the side navigation menu, tap on Settings
  2. Under the Company section, tap on Client communication
  3. Tap on Payment reminders
  4. Toggle on Payment reminders
  5. Select the schedule you want to set up for your payment reminders
  6. Tap on Send me a preview to receive an example payment reminder

 *Available for versions Android 8.5.0 and later

Web

  1. From the side navigation menu, click on Settings
  2. Under the Company section, click on Client communication
  3. Toggle Payment reminders on
  4. Select the schedule you want to set up for your payment reminders
  5. Click on Send me a preview to receive an example payment reminder
