Email Two-Factor Authentication

Managing your invoices just got safer. Two factor authentication (2FA) has been added to Invoice2go for an additional layer of security. If your account is connected to Xero, and you are located in Australia, 2FA will be mandatory to log in to Invoice2go.

How does 2FA work?

With 2FA, each time you log in to your Invoice2go account, an email will be sent to your account asking you to confirm your identity. Simply launch your email in a separate browser window, click on the verification button, and then switch back to Invoice2go. Invoice2go will now have confirmed you as the owner of your account, and you will now be logged in as usual. This will be the new standard flow every time you log in to your account.

2FA is optional for most users, but it will be mandatory for all users located in Australia who have taken advantage of our Xero integration. This requirement is to comply with ATO's requirements for digital service providers.

How can I enable or disable 2FA

If you are an Invoice2go user located in Australia and use our Xero integration, 2FA will automatically be enabled and cannot be disabled. However, if you do not fit this criteria but would like to enable 2FA, please refer to the below steps.

iOS and Android

  1. Tap on the Profile icon in the upper right corner
  2. Under Security, toggle on Two-factor authentication
  3. 2FA will now be enabled on your account, and will be enforced on subsequent logins


  1. Click on your Company name in the top right corner
  2. Click on Account & settings
  3. Under Settings click on Two-factor authentication
  4. Toggle on (or off) two-factor authentication
  5. 2FA will now be enabled on your account, and will be enforced on subsequent logins
