Engage provides an assortment of different templates you can choose to send to your contacts. The best part is that you can customize your templates to sound more like your tone of voice or to better fit your business needs.
To do so:
- From the side navigation menu of the web app, click on Engage
- Click on Email templates, and you'll see a list of templates
- Click on a Template name to expand and view each template
- The subject line and template body copy can be edited by simply typing in new text
- To save changes, click on Save Template
Not happy with the new content? There is a reset icon to restore the default template.
Adding variables to templates
In addition to customizing your templates, you can also add variables. A variable will automatically populate information such as a name, email address, or company name with each email that you send based on the information you have saved in Invoice2go for that client. This will save time on the need to manually type out names.
To add a variable to your template
- Click on the Template name to expand and view the template you wish to edit
- Click on the {x} symbol
- Select a variable
- Contact first name
- Contact last name
- Contact email
- Contact company name
- Add a Fallback
- For example, if you do not have a company name for a contact but you have a template with a company name variable such as “Hello {{merge company}}, you may have a fallback option called “there.” That way, instead of simply saying “Hello,” your email would say, “Hello there.”
- Click on Insert
- Click on Save template
