If your customer wants to pay an invoice online through Invoice2go Money Card Payments, you can elect to turn on a feature that passes to your customer the Service Fees Invoice2go charges you for processing Invoice2go Money Card payments.
Invoice2go offers this feature as a service to our customers. If you enable this feature, you are responsible for complying with any applicable Card Network Rules.
Please note that depending on where your business or your customer is located, state laws may not allow you to pass these Service Fees to your customers. Before you use the fee pass-through feature, make sure you are familiar with applicable laws and regulations in your area for passing service fees on to customers. You, and not Invoice2go are responsible for complying with all applicable state laws and Card Network Rules related to turning on this feature and passing Service Fees to your customers.
Is this feature available for all transactions?
You can only pass on the processing fee when a client pays using a credit card, not a debit card.
If your Invoice2go plan charges a higher fee for American Express cards and cards issued by non-US banks, you can only pass on a fee equal to the domestic Visa and Mastercard rate. For example, if your Invoice2go plan charges 3% for domestic Visa and Mastercard payments and 3.4% for American Express and foreign card payments, the maximum fee you can pass on will be 3%. If a client pays using American Express or a foreign card, you will be charged the rest of the fee (0.4%).
Note: The 1% fee for using instant payouts cannot be passed on to your clients.

How does it work?
When your customers go to pay your invoice online, the service fee will be presented with their total amount due within the payment portal. Let’s take an example with an invoice total of $100 sent out by an Invoice2go user on the Premium plan. If the user’s customer pays online using a domestic credit card through Invoice2go Money Card Payments, they would be prompted to pay $102.99, and $100 will be deposited into the user’s bank account.
The formula used is (Invoice Total) / (1 - % Fee). In the case above, this would work out to (100) / (1- 2.9%) = 100 / .971 = 102.986.
Please note that the online service fees are determined by several factors, including plan type, card type, and cardholder country. Depending on your customer’s card payment type, this amount may not cover all associated fees.
What if my customer partially pays the invoice?
The service fee applies to the partially paid amount. Learn how to view the details of an Invoice2go Money card payment.
