When you receive your customer's PayPal payment on an invoice, you will receive the funds instantly within your PayPal account.
To transfer funds from your PayPal account to your bank account, it usually takes between 3 to 5 business days; weekends and holidays may affect the exact timing of when your money is deposited. Also, additional holding periods may apply when transferring money depending on your bank account.
After PayPal has verified your identity to comply with anti-money laundering regulations and to reduce the risk of fraud, you can start transferring your funds from PayPal to your bank account.
PayPal offers a couple different options for transferring your money to your bank account once you get paid, including manual or automatic transfers. If you would like to manually transfer your money to your bank account you can log into to your PayPal account at any time and process this transfer. To set up automatic transfers, which transfer money from your PayPal account to your bank account on a nightly recurring basis, enable the PayPal “Auto Sweep” feature.
Follow these steps to enable the PayPal Auto Sweep feature:
- Log in to your PayPal account
- In the top right corner of the browser, click Profile
- In the Profile drop down, click Profile and settings
- Under My Profile, click My money
- In the section PayPal Balance, hover over More
- Click Auto sweep
- Click Edit
- Click Yes
- Select the bank you want your money transferred to
- Click Save
If you do not see the option to enable “Auto Sweep,” please contact PayPal support and they will help you get it setup. This feature may not be available in all geographies.
